Jean-Bernard is the third generation of the Larrieu family to run this 17-hectare estate. His father and grandfather initially ran the estate using polyculture (vines, cattle and fruit). Their hillside grown strawberries were their main source of revenue, with grapes being sold to a local cooperative. In 1985, Jean-Bernard founded Clos Lapeyre. Viticulture is organic and biodynamic. 18 hectares on very steep slopes, facing south. Working the soils in spring between the vines helps airflow and deep rooting.
Lovely nose of white flower and marzipan, sharp attack on the palate with dancing acidity bringing out the pure crystalline citrus fruit flavours: lemon and pink grapefruit, zesty cleansing finish. Pair this one with Salmon or chicken with truffles and also goat's cheese.
