Catherine and Pierre Breton are producers of Natural, organic and biodynamic wines produced from Cabernet Franc (red) and Chenin Blanc (white). The grapes are hand harvested, fermented using indigenous yeasts and bottled with low to no added sulphites. La Dilettante is matured in stainless steel to express purely the fruit and the terroir.
The wine has a crisp and powerful aroma of fresh quince, honey and preserved lemon. On entry, the wine shows loads of flinty soil minerality, while still remaining fruit forward. There is a slight nutty character alongside some light paw paw and green fruit flavours. A delicious wine with good length, a dry finish and a great expression of the Vouvray style. For a food pairing, this is ideal as an aperitif, with shellfish or salads.
