Notes from importer, Ryan Larkin:
100% Jacquère from Savoie. 40 year old vines grown on clay and limestone. 3 weeks maceration, and then aged in tank for 9 months. Zero SO2.
What a colour, glowing orange, transparent but with life moving about. A little bit of reduction on opening, but blows away quite quickly. Mountain fresh air, herbs in the breeze, slight saline influence, and mandarin drops. Big iodine actually. Very tasty, similar in style to Côtillon des Dames from Jean Yves Péron. So fresh, mountain snow, and delicate limestone notes. This has medium acidity and is quite long. Very drinkable, smashable in fact. Light on its feet, light texture, and the tension builds. The flavours are light too. One of those wines that goes with anything and that you can't get enough of. Yum!
