2018 Foradori Granato
Foradori
Regular price $140.00
The Teroldego used to make Granato comes from the oldest pergola vines in the Foradori vineyards with an average age of 70 years. Below is a lovely message pertaining to the name of this wine from the Foradori website.
"Grapes and pomegranate have common origins and are often found growing together in the Mediterranean basin. The pomegranate fruit also possesses the charm, beauty and intensity of grapes. It is thanks to this union that the name ‘Granato’ derives, the name of a Teroldego of a particular concentration and density that sinks its roots into the stones of the three vineyards in Campo Rotaliano."
The wine displays ripe fruit characteristics, black olive, floral violet tones, stony minerality, fine but pronounced black tea tannins with plenty of length on the finish. A very special wine indeed.
