Stefano is a native of Bologna who found himself retiring from work in the insurance industry to his wife’s birthplace of Sarzana Liguria. It is here, right next to the Tuscan border where he farms his few hectares under organic principals with a deep love for his vines. He says “We must respect the land and take care of it because we have only borrowed it and tomorrow we will leave it to our children and grandchildren”
In his cellar, he takes a hands-off approach with natural fermentation, minimal sulphur and no fining or filtration. He vinifies and ages all wines in stainless steel for maximum freshness and expression of his vineyard.
5-day skin contact Vermentino. It's fresh and crisp. A light orange hue. The palate shows preserved apricot and lemon peel. The skin contact gives the wine some light tannin. It's a great example of Vermentino.
