The Vitivinicola Rota winery set on 118 acres and is located in the town of Castellazzo in the Emilia Romagna region of Northeastern Italy. This area is known famously for its Balsamic vinegar, Parmigiano Reggiano and also Lambrusco; which is a dry sparkling red wine. The Rota family tradition of wine production dates back to 1907 The decision for this winery to convert to organics was made by Dario Rota in 2005 who gave up his profession as an architect in order to dedicate his efforts and enthusiasm to the Vitivinicola Rota and fulfil his childhood passion of farming. They are now fully certified organic. They are able to achieve maximum quality control in their wines by overseeing all aspects of the production from growing the fruit to bottling the final product.
This is a low alcohol, refreshing sparkling wine with an intense ruby colour and a meaty aroma. The palate is well rounded with flavours of juicy raspberries and cherries and healthy tannins. Lambrusco is straight up BBQ wine best enjoyed with roasted and cured meats.
