Fausto and Cinzia Cellario are 3rd generation winemakers in the village of Carru` on the western outskirts of the Langhe. The family believes in only working with local, indigenous Piemontese grape varieties and fiercely defends local winemaking traditions both in the vineyard & cellar. The families holdings cover some 30 ha between 5 different vineyard sites in the Langhe with holdings in Novello, Monforte & Dogliani. Vineyard work is organic and all fermentation take’s place with indigenous yeasts. Sulfur is only added in tiny quantities at bottling if necessary (a practice not common with a winery in this mid-size range).
This Vermentino has aromas of jasmine and dried hay as well as lemon citrus and marzipan. The palate is bright and zesty with a subtle nuttiness. Tastes how it smells but just a bit more energy. Super crisp and quite interesting with a lovely clean finish. A real crowd pleaser. Drink as an aperitif, with your feet in a pool.
