Ray Nadeson, Maree Collis and Adrian Thomas were all established names working in the fields of science and medicine, with a shared passion for great wine. Their passion turned to obsession and they began the hunt for the perfect vineyard. In 2003, Maree and Ray packed it in and moved to Lethbridge, just outside of Geelong, where they established their boutique winery. The site they chose was based on scientific principles such as soil type, degree days and other climatic indicators. They were to later discover that the site they chose used to be a vineyard in the 1870’s before the discovery of phylloxera in the region. They produce natural wines that focus on balance and texture with a real sense of place or terroir.
A richer, fuller style of chardonnay with an oily, mouth filling texture. Baked apple and honey on the nose. The palate has a slightly mineral edge around flavours of stonefruit, toast and cream. A really well balanced wine with lovely weight and stunning complexity.
